Toile de Jouy is the name of that precious fabric, which stands out for its bucolic patterns represented by decorations of rural scenes.
A fabric with a timeless fantasy whose origins date back to 1750, in France precisely in the town of Jouy-en-Josaus, near Varseille.
Even today it is famous all over the world to such an extent that recently Dior wanted to revisit this fabric by adding hand-drawn wild animals, as prominent elements that are interspersed between bucolic and rural scenes, creating contrasts between the classic shades of green, red and blue and camel-colored bathrooms.
In the same way, other important designers such as Jean Paul Gautier and Christian Lacroix, have tried to revive a fabric so rich in history by inserting it into their collections.
