Rare Pair of Antique Embroidered Cushions

Delightful pair of enormous white cotton cushions with decorations measuring 80x80 cm (31.49” x 31.49”). To be placed on a bed for a regal room. Dating back to the 20th century in Italy, they are in perfect condition with a few loose stitches and small repairs and intact mother-of-pearl buttons. Only the lining is sold.

Antique embroidered linen, dating back to 1600, was synonymous with prestige and social status. It was preserved for future generations as a trousseau in preparation for a future wedding. It is from these trousseaus of noble houses that we draw with care and, consequently, they are intact articles that have been little or never used.
